The premises & organisation

We don't have plush, expensive premises with full time receptionists - the centre is located in the basement of a large family house and entry is currently via the main family entrance. Premises remain in dual use. There is a comfortable therapy room/office, a large room for group sessions and for small conferences and courses plus an administration room and the usual communications systems upstairs.

We are not a high tech organisation. Reception and administration is usually dealt with by the therapist, with some additional assistance.

We are hence able to keep our fees affordable for ordinary clients.

Philosophy

Our counselling and psychotherapy practice is based entirely on the Human Givens method and our work in this area is regulated by the Human Givens Institute. We do not support any other forms of counselling. We also offer some supporting hypnotherapy sessions where appropriate and maintain membership of the General Hypnotherapy Register. We occasionally bring in or refer to suitably qualified practitioners of various physical therapies. There is also an advisory Educational Psychologist and assessment sessions can be organized. We are happy to work with medical practitioners at all times and have contacts with various practices in the area. (We have NHS Service Provider Numbers for rare funded referrals.) Free talks on our approaches for local organizations are usually available on request.
